Sophie Anderton

The 2006 British berry season has now started with model Sophie Anderton as the new face of British berries.

Sophie says: "I am delighted to be a part of the British Summer Fruits campaign. Eating berries helps you to stay looking young, beautiful and in great shape; and not only are they good for you, they taste delicious. Berries have always been an essential part of my diet."

The British appetite for nutrient-packed berries remains strong. Sales of over 50,000 tonnes of British strawberries are predicted for this season. The British strawberry market in 2005 was worth £157 million, with an extra half a million health-conscious British households adding berries to their shopping baskets.

British strawberries are now widely available at retailers all over the country. British raspberries will be widely available in retailers from the beginning of July.
