Berries are great for helping you stay in shape
Losing weight if you need to doesn't just benefit your health - it can also help you look and feel better and give you more energy. Unfortunately though, there's no magic cure for shifting those excess pounds. The easiest way to lose weight safely and sensibly is to eat a balanced, healthy diet that's slightly lower in calories than you're used to, combined with more exercise.
Health experts recommend eating more fruit and vegetables if we want to lose weight as they can help to fill us up, while being low in calories. And that's where berries are a great choice. As well as containing plenty of filling fibre, they are really low in calories - in fact, they're often lower in calories than many other fruits.
For example, an 80g serving of raspberries or blackberries contains just 20 calories, while the same sized serving of strawberries contains 22 calories, and blueberries, 24 calories. In contrast, an apple contains around 50 calories, an orange around 60 calories and a small banana around 75 calories.
