Ryan Chetiyawardana is fast establishing himself as one of the UK’s leading barmen. His contribution to Worship St Whistling Shop in London saw Drinks International name the bar on its prestigious World’s Top 50 list.
He has created a unique gin based cocktail with blueberries called Blue Rose. The strong juniper presence works especially well with the blueberries’ top floral notes and earthiness.
BLUE ROSE COCKTAIL
Ingredients
- 50ml gin
- 12 Chilean blueberries
- 1 inch carrot freshly grated
- 20ml lemon
- 15ml rose scented sugar syrup (to make your own, mix two parts of sugar to one part of water. For each litre of sugar syrup you make, add 5ml Rose water and 5ml Ardbeg)
- 2 dashes orange bitters
- Dash sparkling water
- Ice
Method
- Shake all ingredients.
- Double strain into a coupette (strainer).
- Top up with sparkling water.
